The truth is you shouldn’t.
We are going for more interest.

There are far too many big things going on in the world that deserve all the care you can muster.

So here, in our little slice of a Creative Kingdom we want to nurture curiosity. The what ifs? The what else is possible? Or perhaps more to the point, impossible.

Just as the Kid Kyloh Selkin was, we want to provoke questions. Want to write something that makes you think. Makes you question the way you see or do things? All those habits you didn’t know you were carrying around. Do you really need them all? Or are their better ones to cling on to?

Thinking too hard after a long day? Then for you, maybe it is more about acceptance and opening up the mind. Fantasy is a good way to do that. Everybody is different and yet we are all of the same tree. Fantasy show cases this in such a vibrant way.

Or maybe the only questions you will ask are:
Who is this character?
Where can I see more of them?
Who else Ships x and z?

That’s perfectly fine too.

On the subject of Questions here are a few we have been asked.

Who is Kyloh Selkin? And, why haven’t you heard of him?

Kyloh Selkin is many things, none of which they would say are greatly important.
Living a small life, in a great world.
Kyloh is… a rather isolated sort. Not due to choice. Kyloh is far from the introvert, sometimes it is just how life lands.
Mental health comes in many shades of metallic rainbows, and colours look their brightest when there are many.
Psychosis can be a great life partner for creativity, at the same time it can be its biggest hurdle. It certainly throws up a few crazy stories, both in life and on the page.

A torrential talker is how Kyloh would describe themselves. Once they have started talking good luck getting them to stop. Seriously. An oversharer, perhaps, but nothing they hold deeply personal.
Strange it is then, that in real life talking about their stories is far from easy, actually bordering unpleasant. There is something very unique about how words like to pour onto a page. They do so in their own patterns, often in far different ways than how we would speak in person.

Never knowing what is going to be said next, even if it is coming out of your own mouth is one thing, often, that can be nonsense, ever shifting and/ or deemed rude or insensitive. Kyloh, well it’s not hard to draw them into a good debate. But on the page? There is something magical about that. Far from a planner, it feels like a movie is being poured threw you. Something new and vivid. It can be very surprising what drips from finger tips. Often Kyloh, catches themselves having written words, they have never heard of. Admittedly some of those are made up, but we keep them. Sometimes, they fit the context so much finer, than what is proper.

As to why you have never heard of them, well, Social media has never really been geared up to someone, who naturally only spills in person. One word powers another and before you know your drowning in them… Online… well it feels very one sided, without someone to immediately spark from. Showing off, bragging or sharing without situational prompts, is not really how their brain works. A screen, it lacks warmth. Crazy right? I mean Kyloh are you or are you not a writer? Yeah those two things, they just don’t connect as being the same.

Due to this, we admit. That Social media may feel a bit slow and/ or clunky to start. Its a whole language to learn, and we can’t swim. Hold our hands please, we will get there… or, at least, somewhere.

What are the Wind Sketcher Saga books about?

In short… I-CAN-NOT explain.
Oh a perspective shift. I do that. And… I’m leaving it in.
All part of the getting to know me, apparently book talk is easier, and thus needs less distance.

Any who…

The Wind sketcher Saga, as I have said before is a SAGA. The time scale I am talking is HUGE, but it needs to be. So as expected, a lot happens.
Also… I am A-palling at summing things up, we deep dive here, well and truly. That torrential talker thing I was talking about, I do not joke.

I have lived in this world since I was a kid, and by that I mean since I have had memories, and by world I mean the Wind Sketcher one, or I guess both. The first memory of which was me hating being passed around from adult to adult as people cooed at me, so, well the memories go back pretty far. To say Wind Sketcher has run parallel to my everyday life would be a very flawed lie. It leaks, it leaks a lot. Sometimes it has swallowed up months, even years.

I don’t exist in this Wind Sketcher world. Which is why it makes it interesting, I don’t have some fantasy about living in some far away land. I just… sort of wake up, sharing someone’s views and live their story with them. It can be short and sweet, quite often it is not. The characters you read about here, I’ve lived them. Strange. The scary part about sharing these books is wondering if I have done them justice.

The Stories.

With that in mind, we follow a few different characters, for Various lengths of time.
And I will admit, some of the details (if I talk about future books) may change. Mayer may become Mya. Mostly I will say it will be name. I often don’t remember them.

Mayer, just for you, is the main protagonist in one of the much later books, one where we meet a much loved character (by me) Ti, aka Asterin. Planning is not my style. You heard me say that. True, I don’t plan ahead, but like I also said, I lived these stories alongside their Protagonist, I know them. Like my own strongest memories, I know them. I assure you, there are plenty of stories to sink your teeth into, or lick or whatever.

Back to stories.

Didn’t I tell you I jump? It’s a personality type, Type me if you wish. On that note, typing certain characters has been a blessing on getting them right, certain characters who are too similar to myself but obviously different got a bit muddy, Typing them helped me hold onto who they were. Perhaps more on this in another blog.

*Just to let you know, I do not do this in my stories, (Jump about I mean) here I am allowing myself liberties, seeing as its more personal. Books, that is a whole basket of professionalism.*

STORIES

Myths and Mythology.
That in a way, was always the goal. I don’t want to write Fantasy I want to write something, though very fantastical, that could have actually happened. Kinda. When asked, What Mythology I write, I have to say my own. But I stick to it, I write Mythology. The Dairhn Mythology (Maybe that’s what we will call it). Where…well that would be spoilers, Where, let’s just say, there are many many Gods, I will leave it up to you to decide which ones are true.

Our main character arc, really, it follows the tale of three main characters. All of which centre around one. Jamir. Though you will hear him called many things. He, is the one that ties most of what is going on together.

There are times when I absolutely love Jamir, his journey is I think a unique one. A take on a hero that I have never really read before. He doesn’t start with any particularly strong skills or talents, and I think its fair to say, he doesn’t master many either, other than, well things like cooking. He also doesn’t necessarily start all too likeable, it is debatable as to where he ends up on that scale.

Oh. just. Okay I am putting it out there, I have no idea how to sum this up, to do so I have to choose an angle, and none of them are the right one to give a whole image. So if in the future I say something this contradicts, well it is just complicated. It is far better to learn it book by book, it will be bite sized, you wont even know your learning, I promise it will be painless, and far easier than any exam. Do you like tests? I will make pretty little quizzes just for you. Would you like that, I love quizzes. Though they wont be pretty, I struggle with refining stuff. I like raw, rough edges. The reality of that, you know?

The world you start in, it is made up of many races, but for story simplicity we will focus on a few, The Dairhn, possessing of the most power, the Si reihd, the most powerful and the race of man, arguably more powerful still. You follow? Yeah conflict… right. Well, the Dairhn they are disappearing, whole cities gone in a single night, that kind of missing, that is the riddle our hero must undertake. Oh, it is far too little…but it is about as much as I can give away without massive spoilers. That is the over ruling story arc. The mystery of what is happening to them. I will write you a trailer, blurb type thing. That will sound more impressive, and rightly so, it’s epic.

When are they on sale?

Ah, that will be for another post. Keep a look out!
