Okay, there is no other way of saying this, real art, good art, it takes time. A lot of it.
Not just for the finish piece but the initial sketches, even the waiting for the right inspiration it all takes a lot of time, and the creative muse, just like the artist themselves does not work to any one else’s schedule. The same could be said for writers… Sorry about that.
I could fill up my website with A.I generated art, and I will admit I have a few. Locations, atmospheric shots trying to bring the Wind Sketcher world to life. Visuals are needed. They are important, and I just don’t have the funds or the skill set (right now) to pull it all off. Nor may I add the time. And I HATE that.
HOWEVER, and yes that is a big however, because I do not want to use any more than I have to. I am not a fan of A.I at all, actually I am a rather suspicious and paranoid sort of person, and I can guarantee you will never get me anywhere near A.I in terms of writing. EVER. I do concede, that currently the few images I did create do make my website look more professional and appealing, so I will use them, where necessary, and continue to use the ones I have already created in the past in very limited doses…. Until that is they can be replaced by something with a little more soul.

But… Where they are not required… On side pages, or where you can use your imaginations, I will NOT be using A.I. It just feels too much, and I am very morally conflicted. So instead I will post these little make shift (hand painted by me) place holding images. Yes, they may look a little poor, and toddlers homework like, but I want to do this properly where I can, I want to give things the time they need… okay… While being totally impatient and too excited and putting out content and info way too earlier… okay I get it, but hey the world needs contrast and people are full of it. Yes that is my excuse and I am sticking to it. I know, I could wait… but really… I just can’t. So place holders!
Help always welcome! We love art!
If anyone wants to help me out, has ideas or wants to see their artwork on someone else’s site, and is happy to donate their time and talent to the Wind Sketcher Saga cause, please contact me. I would love to here from you.
Until then…
… lets normalise terrible placement holders.
And please enjoy, laugh and possibly cry at my sometimes diabolical attempts at art.
Let’s rally behind imperfections and support the fun and soul of real creativity.
On a side note, I do have two amazing artists (Paid) currently working hard on creating some character art for the site. One, doing a few sketches for DAMARI and potentially some monster and creature sketches for future books.
Another, drawing the characters from A HARE WITH A HEROES SONG (Book 2 in the Wind Sketcher Saga) I am super excited to see how they all turn out.
